President Emphasizes Link Between Transparency and Good Governance at National Conference

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel highlighted the intrinsic connection between transparency and good governance, emphasizing the pivotal role of auditors as the nation's economic watchdogs during the inauguration of the National Conference organized by the Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ACAN) today.

President Paudel commended auditors for their diligent work, describing their efforts as vital for economic security. He stressed the importance of auditors remaining vigilant and carrying out their duties justly, asserting that transparent economic activities contribute to credible economic development and revenue mobilization.

Addressing the conference, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Jwala Kumari Sah, underscored the significance of error-free auditing in curbing fake bills and revenue evasion, particularly in development and construction projects. Minister Sah applauded ACAN for its contribution to financial good governance through auditing practices.

Deepak Pandey, President of ACAN, expressed optimism that the conference would facilitate discussions on the country's economic challenges and potential solutions. He highlighted sessions focusing on Nepal's economic issues and policy reform as integral to fostering prosperity and development.

During the event, notable figures including ophthalmologist Dr. Sanduk Ruit, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari, and President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, were honored by ACAN for their contributions.

Economists, industrialists, bankers, and policymakers are expected to participate in discussions aimed at addressing challenges and charting a path towards Nepal's economic prosperity and development.
